Personally, when I was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Field Artillery, 3rd Armored Division, V Corps; a 155mm Self Propelled Howitzer Unit, the most impressive round we ever fired was a 98 pound projectile called a, "BEEHIVE ROUND". It was packed with hundreds of razorblade sharp steel flechettes. At 50 meters downrange, the shell would explode, releasing the flechettes into a wide pattern, (kind of like a giant sawed-off shotgun). It was designed as an ANTIPERSONNEL round to be used should enemy infantry ever attempt to overrun a Battery's firing position. One seriously nasty piece of hardware!!!
