The Drive For Driel

Extended Description
The Duke of Cornwall 's Light Infantry in World War Two. During the attempt to reach the British airborne troops fighting at Arnhem in Holland during September 1944, a German anti tank position having knocked out the lead tanks of the Allied relief force, has itself been destroyed by the fire of other British tanks and supporting artillery. Troops of the 5th Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry have been sent forward to clear the enemy position. Bad weather and stubborn German resistance caused considerable delays to the Allied plans, and eventually resulted in the withdrawal of the remaining airborne forces fighting at Arnhem .
