1991: On the way into Kuwait City you could see a lot of destroyed Iraqi armour which was probably hit during the battle of al-Khafji. This tank was probably only about 10 or so km from the Saudi-Kuwait frontier crossing.
I respectfully beg to differ. History and every unit assigned to the Marines knows that the Battle of Khafji and the Road to Death were two separate and distinct Battles happening almost a month apart. I have raw photos of both That were taken soon after the Road to Death that will never see the light of day until I'm dead as there is no place in this world for what was observed. What army unit were you with that put you in either of these locations or are you posting photos from others?

Hi PSU301AlJubayl, unfortunately it looks like the member who posted this picture (EOD1971) hasn't actually logged into the forum since 2016 so am afraid it's pretty unlikely that you'll get an answer from him.

There appears to be a misunderstanding here. At no time did I suggest that my photo had anything to do with the so-called Road to Death.
I indicated that this photo was taken in southern Kuwait, just to the north of the frontier control point between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, which in turn is a short distance to the north of Al Khafji. Nothing to do with the later events to the north and east.
I would like to add that we went through this area after the ceasefire and observed and photographed a number of damaged Iraqi tanks that Coalition forces had attacked during that action.
It is unclear to me how someone could confuse the two events.

Reply submitted today to that confused comment and it is awaiting mod approval. The picture was taken just to the north of Al Khafji, just inside Kuwait. I think that was clearly indicated in the original post. I have a number of other photos from the same area .
