Hey @28th61st

I have received another email from Adrian stating the following

Flight Sergeant Robert Francis Coffey 419723 died in a plane crash on 4th August 1944. He was with 5 (pilots) advanced Flying Unit, Turnhill (?).

Adrian also asks

Was wondering if you had any info on what the crash circumstances actually were or where one could find out.

hello, some years ago, you made a inquiry on my late uncle Robert Francis Coffey (bobby to his family) are you related to someone formerly close to bobby all those years ago ?

My mother was only young when bobby died (12years old) she told me he had engine problems and tried to land the plane in a near by park, but the children in the park didn’t understand the situation and hence didn’t vacate the park so that he could land, so he choose to place the plane into an isolated area next to the hospital in the hope of being saved, but he died. I also understand that bobby was engaged at the time to a lady from over there, but that is all I was told about the lady except she came from a good family. I do know stories about bodbby growing up as my mother idolised him.
