Gladys Irene Hollidge daughter of Herbert and Harriet May , 4th Battalion, Royal Garrison Regiment, died 20 April 1903.

She is at rest in Imtarfa Military Cemetery, Plot 1. Row 1. Grave 7, the one on the left. Her sister Ethel Dorothy,died 4 June 1903 she is in the grave to the right

Child of Herbert and Harriet May Hollidge, nee Knight. Herbert and Harriet were married in Croydon in 1897
In 1881 aged 18, Herbert was stationed at the Citadel, Plymouth. He joined the Royal Reserve Regiments (Home duties) in 1881, transferred into new regiment Royal Garrison Regiment 4th battalion and posted to Malta. The Reserved was phased out. In 1901, four battalions were raised. The 1st, 3rd and 4th battalions were sent to Malta, whilst the 2nd was sent to Gibraltar All battalions were disbanded in 1908
In 1898 in the registration district of Croydon, Surrey he married Harriet May Knight
1901 Census. He was stationed at Fulwood Barracks, Preston, Lancashire aged 38, Sergeant, and married. His wife Harriet was staying with her parents, Moses and Kezia at Stanway Grounds, Winchombe, Gloucestershire. She was born at Alderton, Gloucestershire. Her daughter Edith May was also with her.
1911 Census. Herbert 47, occupation, housepainter, builder was living with his wife May (Harriet May) and their two remaining children. Edith May aged 10, born at South Norwood and Charles Reginald Guy Hollidge born in Malta 1904.
