Help Names Wanted

I have posted two group photos below, each shows my late Father who was in the R.A.M.C. during WW2. And one photo shows Stanley G Ford Pte .
If anyone can help with names, or details of the photos It will be of great value...

Sorry I can't help with those questions above.

BUt i have a question about military uniforms. I am using the picture below for research, but I have NO IDEA what that leather strap with the clip on the end is for. Is it holding the gun holder maybe?

Can anyone help me?
