A Sense of Finality

This is what happened... again.

"Your session timed out while you were composing this post and you were logged out.
You must log in again to continue."

I log in again.

"Thank you for logging in."

"Your submission could not be processed because you have logged in since the previous page was loaded.
Please push the back button and reload the previous page."

I push the back button.

"Your submission could not be processes because you have logged in since the previous page was loaded.
Please push the back button and reload the previous page."

A circle of failure is what I call it. My post is gone and I'm left with nothing but frustration and a feeling of resignation.

By the way, in the lower left-hand corner are my posting rules, stating:
You may post new threads.
You may post replies.
You may post attachments.
You may edit your posts.

I do regret that this unresolved problem of mine and request for assistance has fallen on death ears. It has been 18 days since I posted this, and there was another I posted before the crash.
More than anything, I am disappointed that I don't even warrant an acknowledgment.
I still don't understand this concept of "your session has timed out ". Why is there some unknown time limit on how long you have to post a thread ? It may take me 30 to 60 minutes to finish my post, is that too long ? Once logged in and once I start writing a post, I am constantly busy, there is no down-time, such as if I walked away and tried to finish it the next day.
Again, I am at a loss but more than anything, I'm sorry that my status on this site has changed from a contributor to only a reader. Since I reported this problem before the database failure, I thought maybe my difficulties was a precursor to something amiss with the site caused by hackers and spammers, They are more prevalent than ever and their attacks show no sign of diminishing.
So in conclusion, henceforth I will try to keep my words small in number and I will neither ask for nor expect guidance or assistance from anyone.

Hi 03Fox1/2, You post a message a few weeks back and I said that I write my items out then cut and paste, but you stated that you didn’t want to do that.

On most sites there is a time limit and on some a word count. This has nothing to do with the people running the site; it’s a thing the server has installed.

I'm sorry I can't help you.

Silky

Thank you Silky for trying to help me. I can't or don't understand this cut and paste concept. Besides, I don't see how it will change anything. For example, if I have made notes from a book and along with several newspaper stories and other sources, I may combine these with many personal thoughts and memories I have on a subject that I find important. I sit at the computer and I compose my story, usually in real time, spontaneous so to speak. Than I check the spelling and rearrange some paragraphs, only than do I post it. Not very efficient and not very fast. What I said before is that I don't think "cut and paste" is the answer. If there is a word or time limit now, there was a time not long ago when I always fell within the required perimeters. There was no problem with either time or word limit. Sometimes after I posted something, I was asked to log-in again, but after I did, my post appeared where it should. I did seem to have these problems just before the database failure and I did seem to be the only one reporting it. A connection maybe, or not. All of this is irrelevant anyway, I am at a stage in my life where I feel what I have to contribute is important to me, I am not someone that has the patience to compete just to be heard. I have never stayed around when I felt my presence unwanted. And so my absence from this site, and others, is nothing more than a symptom of something much bigger. I will continue to try to resolve my shortcomings and I will continue to probably seek out answers where possibly none exist. You and others on here have been very gracious to me and the compassion shown to those of us that may need a bit longer to grasp the situation is indicative of your patience and great compassion. You, for example, express it so well with your poetry and your respect for those fellow caregivers that you represent so well. I believe that I will put some distance between myself and most computer sites. Better to be seen than heard and in this case better to be neither. Take care of yourself over there. This swine flu pandemic is frightening and unpredictable.

Hi mate

Hi Fox, I've been off line for almost 20 days now due to overseas visitors and some overseas travel on our part. Wish I had been here to "talk" with you. Now I'm no expert on the internet etc., but I do know that from my point of view I'm always impressed by your clarity of expression, and straight from the heart emails.
Just keep on keeping on and don't let your "firing rate" drop !
Cheers

Mike
