More than 50 D-Day veterans who feared they would miss a trip to Normandy for the 60th anniversary of the landings have been told the trip is back on.
The group was told the hotel they booked in France was badly damaged in a fire - putting the trip at risk.
But on Thursday it emerged that hundreds of French families have offered accommodation to veterans, including the group from Bolton.
The former soldiers say it is essential they honour the men who died.
