View Full Version : Barefoot Soldier
The story of Private Johnson Beharry V.C., from his growing up in Grenada, his determination to do something with his life, to joining the British Army and being awarded the Victoria Cross for actions in Iraq. As a Warrior driver, he received serious head injuries when an RPG exploded next to his head during an ambush in Al Amarah, yet survived! An incredible young man, who seemed destined to make his mark on the world. A good read.

Amazon has some good reviews about this book.
Heres one
Not having read any reviews of the book before I bought it, I picked it up as something that might give a personal insight into elements of the broader story told in "Dusty Warriors" of PWRR's time in Iraq in 2004. I found that I couldn't put it down, even though Johnson doesn't actually join the Army until half way through the book (apart from the first chapter in Iraq).
Many thanks to Johnson and those who helped to get his story published.
