This is a COMPANY LEVEL punishment. It is given out by the Company Commander for a variety of offenses, usually minor, that he feels can/should be dealt with within the company. Some examples might be failure to report for duty; talking back to an officer or NCO; fighting; continually failing inspections; etc.. The punishment is usually a monetary fine, extra duty, or, sometimes, demotion in rank. If deemed serious enough, it could be all three. If the perpetrator is the rank of E-5 or above it takes a field grade officer [Major, Lt. Colonel, Colonel] to demote him/her, making it a BATTALION or BRIGADE LEVEL punishment. I had two of these during my three year enlistment. Both of them resulted in fines. I DID NOT get a Good Conduct Medal :lol: .
So, does your military have the equivelent of an Article 15? What's it called? Did you receive one?
We had a guy (E-3) who they promised E-5 if he re-upped for 3 more years. He did and they made good and he was an E-5 the next day. About 2 weeks later he got his butt in the wringer, got an Art 15 and busted back down to E-3. I don't know what he did but he still had the 3 more years. :lol:

In the enlisted ranks it goes from E-1 to E-9 and special for Sergeant Major of the Army; in the officer ranks it goes from O-1 to O-10, during wartime, there is a special rating of 5-star general except in the Marine Corps. There are also Warrant Officer grades for the Army, Navy, and Marines W-1 to W-5 for the Army and Navy, W-2 to W-4 for the Marines and none for the Air Force. :cool:

Same-same.Two field grade Article 15's in 3yr.,4mo..However never recieved punishment.
"O" and "E" and "W" are PAY GRADES. O=officers, E=enlisted, and W=warrant officer.

CONDUCT TO THE PREJUDICE OF GOOD ORDER AND MILITARY DISCIPLINE CONTRARY TO SECTION 69 OF THE ARMY ACT 1955
in that he, at .................................. between ................................. and ............................ having given to J. Smith partly in exchange for cash and partly in payment of an indebtedness a cheque for £31 dated ............................. and drawn by him (the accused) on Lloyd's Bank PLC, Cox's and King's Branch, without reasonable excuse failed either to ensure that he had sufficient funds in the hands of the said bank to meet the said cheque when presented or to make arrangements for the said cheque to be honoured when presented
Section 69 basically covered every possible offence, I remember once while on recruiting duties I got pissed up and fell asleep in the corridor of a Hotel we were staying in (naked). An old lady who should have been glad to see such a bronzed sex god naked, actually reported me to the Sarge and I was repremanded under this army code for "Behaviour beyond reproach". :mrgreen:
How we all laughed lolb;
And before you say it Mr Derrick, we did not laugh at my undersized Manhood. :roll:

All right, you two. Shenanigans allowed this time. DW, just where did these two come from, anyway?? Wherever, we need to send them to Afghanistan. Between the two of them, Osama would be glad to surrender.
If they want laughs, just as soon as himself approves the pic, they can punish themselves by going to funny pictures for a viewing.

When I moved from the UK to Singapore. The local electricity board wrote to me and asked for payment for electricity use at my last address. I wrote back and told then that I had paid the bill and had a receipt to say so.. They wrote back asking for the details on the receipt. I refused to give it to them because they had an advert at that time say that they had moved over to computers to make the customers life more easy. They then wrote to my Commanding Officer and I was placed on a charge (Article 69 of the Army act 1955) for conduct predigest to good order and military discipline. I showed the CO my receipt. He dismissed the case and told the electricity board where to go.
When on a charge it goes something like this.
At 08.55 hrs you parade in the corridor by the CO office. At 09.00 the RSM or the company sergeant will shouts, Prisoner on parade, remove your cap and belt, (This goes back in time when soldiers wore helmets with spikes on top that could be used as a weapon) he then shouts left or right turn quick march, left right left right, left wheel. This takes you from the corridor and into the CO office. Still shouting left right left right Mark time. Halt. You are now standing in front of the CO desk.
The CO then reads the charge
“Bombardier, it is stated that on such and such a date and at such and such a time, you where found not to be stood to attention while lying nude in the corridor of an hotel. How do you plead?”
“Guilty sir.” :oops:
“Fined four day pay. March him away sergeant.”
“About face, left right left right, right wheel halt. Cap and belt on, report back to your duties.”
All the British soldiers will have said all this in their minds while reading it and it will bring back some funny times.
Just as it happens John!
Except the RSM always quickens up the orders and makes you march back when you can't keep his timings. drill;

I'm a bit lost here Guys, not sure what an unpaid electric bill has to do with being naked in a hotel corridor.
Were you really wired, Andy?

Well lets say when the ole lady that saw me fast asleep and pissed out of my tree lying in the hotel corridor naked told my rsm, I felt like I was wired into the electrical circuit bo;
I should add that this occured while I was with the artillery display team (recruiting) and was in Paington, Devon I think. I was not allowed to stay in a hotel for about another 2 months and had to sleep in the wagons. Twas a real bummer dude :x . Judgement was passed
