Hi
As a Volunteer with the Emergency Services in Cape Town I often get involved with public functions like the Argus Cycle Tour and the Cape Times Big Walk etc.
This year the Big Walk was scheduled for the Sunday the 11th of November, and for the first time in 14 years I did not get involved either as a walker or as support. The 11th of the 11th is only for remembrance.
Watching the Whitehall ceremony on TV is a rule, and again it was a wonderful occasion. An occasion which was made extra special when you see the large number of ex-soldiers wearing the Veterans Badge...
From the 14th to the 17th I am involved with the Militaruy tattoo at Cape Town Castle, I will be in Castle Guard Uniform and this morning received permission form the organisers to wear my Veteran Badge.
Have a look at http://volunteer.fotopic.net/ and photographs from the last Tattoo at http://www.capetattoo.co.za/intro.htm
Regards from Cape Town
