My friend emailed me today. He's been staying the weekend with us and on his way back home he called in to see the new memorial but it is closed to the public until the 29th October as the place is not yet ready. So if anyone is thinking of going next weekend, save it until a later time.

I had a crazy thought today.

Why is it that a memorial is only erected to remember our dead heroes and what does that then project to the youth of today who will soon become the protectors of tommorow?.

maybe we should also have monuments to celebrate the bravery of living service people and maybe that will have a more positive affect on our youth who we will be looking at in years to come to protect us.

Any thoughts ?, am I talking b**locks? let me know what you think.
