Though both weapons are nearly identical, Which is superior?.
Myself, I think the BM59 becouse:
* European weapon, (Why rely on the yank stuff?)
* It is basically an M1 Garand in 7.62 NATO and with a 20 round magazine of slightly stronger to that of the M14
* The M1 Garand was a reliable weapon
* The BM59 is slightly shorter and lighter
* Stayed in production longer then the M14, (Thats Saying somthing)
* The M14 was disliked in the Vietnam jungle by troops(Except snipers?), And had internal problems.
The only pros of the M14:
* Led to the M21 and DMR sniper rifle, Popular amongst US snipers and civvie shooters today.
* Can be fitted with SAGE stocks etc.
* Although unrelated, It led to the M16 as it was disliked.
