The Assyrian army was, perhaps, the first truly organised (in every aspect) army of History.
Besides all the major components of an army (until the advent of gunpowder), the Assyrian made great use of psychological warfare.
Their method was simple but very effective: to inspire the terror on your foe is almost to win the war.
As said, the Assyrian had infantry, both nationals

and foreign auxiliary

The use of the horse would that be in chariots or as cavalry

Was also a weapon that helped the Assyrian to achieve their maximum glory.
So, even before Rome was anything else than a small city, Assyrian had a professional, highly trained, ruthless and efficiently army.

Quote by JP Vieira ‘The Assyrian army was, perhaps, the first truly organised (in every aspect) army of History.’

I’m not sure that this is true.

In antediluvian times (Before the Flood) there was a Stone Age group lead by a man known as Bombardier. His right hand man in charge of the troops was called Capt Cheatham, and he had two lieutenants called, Matzos and Drone Pilot, who was no relation to that other Pilot who did all the crucifying.

PanzerBob was in charge of making wheels so that they could move about more freely and Artic Wolf gave lectures and training sessions on cold weather fighting due to the Ice Age. Finally 03fox2/1 was in charge of long range patrols.

Once they men went into battle, nothing could stop them. All this is a little unknown historical fact.

John,
I believe there would be another that you forgot to mention. His name would be Silky and besides writing many fabled stories and poems about the numerous and courageous adventures of this band of ancient merry men, Silky was the first man ever to be considered a battlefield medic.

Thank you
The panzer commander illustration is almost to the point that it can be displayed.
