Defence Secretary Des Browne has been heavily criticised after failing
to attend a service to honour the Battle of Britain heroes.

He angered RAF veterans by snubbing the memorial service to the 1,441 fliers
killed or injured in the country's "finest hour" in 1940.

They claimed it was an insult to the brave pilots who defeated the Luftwaffe
67 years ago, against overwhelming odds.

Its sadly very typical of the Government of today, they are too busy lining their own pockets to give a feck about the brave lads and lasses who gave them the right to be who they are.

The idiotcy of politicians seem to know no national boundaries (we have a few like him in the States). Amazing, I remember a quote I read of Sir. W. Churchill, "We have two hurrahs for every Spit." Even across the pond, the veracity, courage and daring of those pilots are well known and legendary.

That's career politicians for you! Too busy thinking about their next move to remember those to whom they owe a big debt, for the right to have their democracy and career.
