This rifle, Also known as the T2MK5 was to be a replacement for the L1A1 SLR in the 1980s. Similar to the Armalite AR18, It is ultra-simple and easy to produce and maintain but got turned down to the Austeyr F88 Bullpup.

So what happened to this beuty?, Is it still in production?

Well reading on another site says this weapon was produced till 1996, And a carbine version was to be issued to the Australian Tank Crews.

Guess this could have been the British Armys standard rifle.
