My uncle Capt. Edmond J. Landers was killed in action in Vietnam on 15 may 1968 while leading his company (Alpha Co.) in a Recce In Force Mission near the village of Thu Duc north east of Saigon. He was born in Oola Co. Limerick Ireland and emigrated to the USA in 1957 at the age of 20 yrs. He was later called up on National Servise and continued to serve after his term was completed. Subsequently he was promoted and was selected for OCS at USAIS Ft Benning GA. He Served in 82 Abn Div / 101 Abn Div / USAREUR and spent the last months of his life in combat with the men of the 1 Inf Div "the Big Red One".

To read the story of his life and service in the cause of world peace and freedom for which he made the ultimate sacrifice...log on to the undermentioned website which I have compiled in his memory, and to the memories of those who died in battle with him on the day in May 1968.
