After think it's about time to get into the wireless age, I when and purchased a wireless router and a wireless USB receiver.
The supplied instructions are a waste of time. However, I now have base machine connected to the router by a network cable, so now I can see the net on this machine via the router.
Next I installed the software for the USB wireless receiver onto my laptop and was hoping that I could start to surf the web - WRONG.
My router can see the MAC address of the laptop and the laptop is picking up a signal from the router, however, when I run the contacting program on the laptop all I get is "Acquiring network address" and it stays like that. I have all the windows programs set to auto pick up IP addresses.
I know that I'm doing something wrong and the supplier of the system is no help, because, I'm not ring the Far East .
So any pointers would be excellent. Thank you
Fixed it, unsure how, but it's working solthum
