The Public of Gulf Breeze has taken up a new subject to whine about. As any Dessert Storm or OIF vet can tell you, the Guns from the Awesime AC-130 Hercules Gunship are not only lifesaving but also earth shaking and, as expected with the 105's, Noisy. The town I Live in has started complaing of this noise, saying that it is unnessecary and keeps them up, causing them to propose a complaint to Hurlburt AFB to stop the "nightly practices" but here are some reasons they should not only change their views, but also keep quiet.

1. Most realtor in the city will warn new residents of the noise of aircraft, including the Gunships practice and the noise accompanying it. Yet only a few home buyers usually turn the deals down.

2. Most of the noise is negated by being indoors, but many say they cant enjoy their nightly sunroom visits because, again, the 105 and 40mm noises, but this is a no-brainer because it's a SUNroom, ENJOY IT WHEN THERE IS SUN! The 130's are not known to practice in the day, except normal fight.

3. The training is essential to the Airforces ability to provide pontentially life saving, battle winning Gunship support. The Hurlburt AFB Hercs are Preparring themselves for war, and if it means a 5 minute period of insomnia then I and most of my friends who are opposing the group, are pround to hear the big guns.

and 4. The practices arent even every night, so the group is now making up crap

All in all, the group will hopefully decide for the better and cancel the complaint documents, which are little more than a joke leagally speaking.

Just thought the 130 and airforce fans would like to hear this.

There are always those that will complain about these things, without understanding the need for them. We get it here every time some of our RAF jets practise their low-level flying down the west coast. People should remember the old adage, "If you want peace, prepare for war."
