Just to let you know, the New Euro Fighter was seen today 04/04/07 on the RAF Holbeach bombing range. (Gedney Drove End) South Lincolnshire.

Two jets in plain grey with no markings spent ten minutes practice on diving runs over the range.

This was the first unofficial siting of these new jets on the range. First impressions in action flight were quite impressive, they are a little more noisy than Tornadoes and I noticed a specific whine from the engines when banking at low level speed. They certainly look distinctive with the new design wing layout, can't wait to see them all marked in RAF decals. Unfortunately I couldn't lay my hands on the camera at the time, but will post flight pictures next time they visit the range.bou;

My sins are to be working on the range at RAF Holbeach full time. I get to see all the aircraft that come and use us. The dgood thing is that we tend to have prior notice as to when the different aircraft are due. You to can have this information by phoneing either RAF Holbeach direct and then ask for the tower (most of the staff are willing to help), or you may phone Marham and they should give an update via the range booking computer. Not only will this tell you when specific aircraft are due but should give information as to whether practice bombs, 1000 pounders, retards or rockets etc. Please bare in mind the weather as this can play a major part. Not that the aircraft cannot fly or bomb but as a safety precaution for any idiots that think because they cannot see a plane, does not mean there is not one on the range. Believe me it does happen. Even though we have lookout posts and signs as well as flags and red lights, there is always the odd ball who is blind deaf and stupid. So if you want to visit the range with a chance of seeing in the ATC tower etc then call RAF Holbeach and arrange a visit. Night flying is only available until the end of April.
