The last operation shows powerdown where the read/write head is 'Parked' on an unused part of the disk.

the heads never touch the platter... it's always a few micron above it...



this i find always very intresting...



also, a HDD is magnetically reconstructable so formatting it 7 times for instance won't totally erase all evidence solthum
