Does anyone know more about this Japanese U-Boat? It was also capable of carrying a Seaplane.

Would there be anything else like it built again?.

I know a little. It's mission was to carry seaplanes to the USA to bomb our cities, but it was changed to a mission to hit the panama canal, which would greatly affect our shipping, but the war was over before the sub had a chance to carry this out. Also, it was the first giant sub built by the japanese

Hope it helpssal;

Also the concept of a sub-carrier is still fascinating to the US and probably Russia (they LOVE subs) but the concepts big flaw is that there is no room to recover fixed wing aircraft like the F-18 or store large numbers of aircraft
