"The last thing we would want to do is cause upset among a group of people who have given so much to their country, but safety is of paramount importance."

This isnt about safety?, its about covering somebodys arse.
Insurance doesnt stop something happening it provides the funds to put things right after the event?.

Feckin Bollocks, the Government local or otherwise should pay the insurance for these chaps

Peter Lee-Hale, chairman of the 8th Destroyer Association, said: "I could understand it if we were a bunch of yobs marching through the town, but what trouble do they think an 80-year-old ex-sailor is going to cause?

I agree with you Bombardier, the local council should pay for this coverage.

But then again, this is only a group of old people that put there lives on the line for their country.

NOW IF IT WAS LESBIANS OR HOMOSEXUALS ETC. THAT WOULD BE A DIFFERENT MATTER????????????????
