Yes it would, and if time and work allowed I would be there paying my respects like a shot. :?
My legion post has a d-day vet as a member, a battle of the bulge survivior, a pearl harbor survivior and an Iwo Jima vet. I would like to get those guys to write their stories but as the Pearl Harbor guy told me "I've spent 50 years trying to forget it, and I ain't gonna start remembering it now"
I don't know if they know that they are living history books and people ARE interested in their stories.

Yes they are living history books and my personal view is that there is no shame in telling the world how bad war actually is and what a total and utter waste of life war can be, this they can do by sharing their stories.
But, and theres always a but. I do understand why they try to forget what they have endured, seen and felt.
If some of our younger members of this international community could reap some of the wisdom and complete selflessness that these brave men have shown us all (via there stories) they must in my opinion become wiser and stronger. They are our future after all.
I have some photo recce shots of Normandy they are dated 25 Aug 44. I am unsure of the sectors they cover, if members wish I will post the thumbnails

Yes, We want to see all :D
Ok, they are of an unknown sector sometime after the main attack. I have also procedured close-ups of deferent areas
http://img149.exs.cx/img149/8022/nor14ph.th.jpg (http://img149.exs.cx/my.php?loc=img149&image=nor14ph.jpg) http://img149.exs.cx/img149/5496/nor1radar4xd.th.jpg (http://img149.exs.cx/my.php?loc=img149&image=nor1radar4xd.jpg)
In the close-up you can clearly see the German coast radar

Another part of the coast line, with the close-ups showing two bunkers
http://img149.exs.cx/img149/4310/nor27by.th.jpg (http://img149.exs.cx/my.php?loc=img149&image=nor27by.jpg)
This close-up again shows another bunker and just look at all that wire.
I have about 12 frames on CD each frame has been scanned at 1200 dpi, so the close-ups are only a small part of the whole frame. When and if I get time, I am going to try and piece all the frames together, then try and find out which sector it is.
Fantastic photos, truly unique. Brilliant stuff :D
