Hi one and all,
Please watch out for the following scam
PASS ON TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW
I man identifying himself as an AT&T Service technician (could also any other name) He said he was conducting a test on the telephone lines and stated that to complete the test I should dial nine( 9 ), zero( 0 ), and the pound sign ( # ), and then hang up.
Do not be fooled into following his instructions. By using 90#, you give the requesting individual full access to your telephone line, which enables them to place long distance calls billed to your home phone number.
DO NOT press 90# for ANYONE!
Obvious this depends on which country you live in, but watch out for it.
