View Full Version : Starting up again?
I've read a couple of news articles about new rumblings in Argentina about the Islands. Seems that the Argentines are using economic measures this time..banned charter flights which have hurt the tourist trade. Also are lobbying Koffie 'Show me the Money' Annan. They are raising a fuss about fishing and oil exploration. Wonder how our friends across the pond see this.
I doubt very much Argentina would invade the islands again although they probably would try and stop people from visiting or attempt to cause problems in some other way.
It's British and always will be. They wont make the same mistake again.

Hmm I doubt they would invade either, that said they are a lot better organised and we are stretched to our limits so if they did we would be in trouble..... :cool:

I dont think they would invade again, as the last time, it caused a lot of upset in Argentina because at the time, they had a military Junta, that ruled with an iron fist. Now they have a civil goverment they will try a diffrent route through a political soloution.
But in the long run i dont think they will ever give up their clam to the Falklands.

I dont think it will be possible, Argentina probably still wants to forget the first war, let alone start a second one. Still, im sure the Brits would put a hurtin on em if it did escalate to that extent.rbo;
