UK troops killed in Afghan ambush

Three British soldiers have been killed after a vehicle patrol was
ambushed by militants in southern Afghanistan.

A fourth soldier was seriously injured in the incident in the north of Helmand
province, the Ministry of Defence said.

The incident comes a day after UK and Canadian-led Nato troops assumed
control of military operations in the area from US-led forces.
