Australia grounded its 26 U.S.-made F-111 fighter jets yesterday, hours
after one of the air force planes was forced to make an emergency landing
because a wheel fell off after takeoff.

Live television images showed the F-111 on a long, low approach before it
finally touched down at the Royal Australian Air Force's Amberly base near Brisbane.

Why grounded?, why not just get rid of the whole fecking lot?, I cant believe an Air force still use these bucket of bolts in this day and age.

Quality flying though (Y)

I believe there have been more problems with the F111 than any other aeroplane.

Being an army man and not air force, what I would like to know is, is that what they call flying at ground zero?

I was going to comment on your remark, "bucket of bolts" it gave me a good chuckle, looks like someone took off with the bucket of bolts that held the wheel on.

Got to enjoy the play on words.
