There was an article on local radio this morning about this Tuesday 27th July being a Veterans' Day. This is supposed to have been introduced by Gordon Brown.

This event is supposed to marked by all 646 constituencies across the country" with an official event at No 10.

We are ALL WETERANS, so how come this is the first I’ve heard of this veterans’ Day.

I have not hear or seen anything in the local papers or national papers or seen anything on National TV.

Have you?

Given out on Radio Lincolnshire this afternoon. 500 troops have arrived in Leicestershire to take part in the celebration of Veterans Day.

US Veteran's Day is 11/11 (used to be called Armistice Day). It is an official holiday except that the only people who seem to get the day off are government employees & bankers. Most of the vets I know have to work on 'our' day.
