Great photo,
One thing with a static location is that the enemy can range in on you.
In my artillery days, seven 25 pounders could pull into a site, unload and fire five rounds each and reattach the gun and limber to the quad and be towed away to a new location in less than nine minutes. Even in that sort time it was believed that the enemy would have your location and would be ranging in on you.

Yep, counter battery fire was and is always a problem.
We used to do a lot of shoot and scoot missions (arty Raids) during the first Gulf War.
