The Queen has received an historic "Feu de Joie" rifle salute as part of
her 80th birthday celebrations.

The cascade of blank gunshots was common in the 18th and 19th centuries to
mark a military victory or birthday.

But it was the first time it had been seen during the Queen's reign, and was
interspersed with the National Anthem.

We got a SKY link out here at Seeb and watched it. The Canberra looked great with the Red Arrows.
Great pictures on the BBC site, only one thing wrong, they listed our Canberra as a bomber! solaf

Saw the Canberra mate, it did look good inside all those Red Arrows.
Did you say on a previous post that it will be flying at Waddington?, hope so

British Airway was asked to partake in the flypast with Concord,
but they said NO, "Concord will never fly again." was their answer.

I take that as a personal insult to our Queen.

Yes mate, there will be one flying and one on display.
The one on display will be in right mess as it will have only been back from ops a week. The other one will have the new disbandment tail markings.
