The Royal Air Force's aerobatic team The Red Arrows have received their Public Display Authority.
The Red Arrows have to receive Public Display Authority (PDA) each year in order to be deemed safe to perform to global audiences. The PDA is authorised by Commander in Chief (CinC) Personnel and Training Command Air Marshal Barry Thornton.

Air Marshal Thornton had to assess whether the Red Arrows new display proved to him that the team was both safe to fly and that the team was to the right standard. The difficult and hair raising formation had to meet the expectations of the global public.
The Red Arrows announced that they will begin their 2006 display season with a 3-week goodwill tour of the Far East, Middle East and Europe. They are set to demonstrate British excellence to millions of people in eight different countries; Jordan, India, Oman, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Greece and Spain.
