In Summer 2003, I took my Family to Waterloo whilst on holiday.
There are a number of sights connected with the battle, but in particular there is the Wellington Museum - a former Inn where Wellington Lodged before and after the battle - which is in the centre of Waterloo, the main battlefield site near Braine-l'Alleud where you will find the main battlefield visitor centre, waxwords museum, the Butte de Lion monunment and Waterloo Panorama. At nearbye Nivelles are Napoleon's lodgings - now a museum, and you can also visit the farmsteads of L'Haye Saint and Hougoumont.
A fantastic place to visit but being in a very French part of Belgium, one could easily be mistaken for thinking that Napoleon had won!
