Wherever you go, I shall go. Wherever you Lodge I shall lodge.Thy people will be my people

Military wives are a very wonderful breed indeed, not too mention brave and understanding.

Thanks for the poem Arcticwolf

Again, another great post AW, I know that my wife given up a number of things when she has had to follow me around for the pass 30 years, now with me in the last years of my career, she was praying that I would get a nice desk job. However, I'm sorry to say that will not happen in this 'modern' Air Force, I'm still moving from one place to another and all the time she is running the home and keeping my two child on the straight and narrow, in my mind it's the wife who should have the med; .

I remember not too long ago my wife was known as 'wife of....'

All the Night Stalker poems are really good (so many emotions evoked), but here's two for this thread in particular:

Dear Lord,

Give me the greatness of heart to see the difference between duty and his love for me.

Give me a task to do each day, to fill the time when he is away.

When he is in a foreign land, keep him safe in your loving hand.

And, when duty is in the field, please protect him and be his shield.

And Lord, when deployment is so long, please stay with me and keep me strong.

AMEN
