hi there people,ive been visiting this site for some time now but ive just decided to join you.......im an ex gunner,and im a member of the N.I.V.A. (northern ireland veterans association) im also a jock,who has his own pub.... this is only the second site ive ever joined......ive posted on many......but not joined......your pictures are first class,and i would like to thank you,ive spent a lot of time looking about......gunner,youve been in some of my old regt.i joined back in 69,as a boy......and spent a happy time with the gunners,and some scarie times too......ive spent time on the heavy stuff......8 inch/towed and sp....107.109.105/pack and light.....even did some time on the old 25 pdr.......i also went away and worked on a new tank barrel 120mm ....why i will never know.....i was a gunner not a tankie.......anyway,i now work on the railways,hence trackman.....and can still find time to run a pub......

Welcome Trackman, its nice to have a fellow gunner on board. Far too many of those airforce type of people here, lots of talk of aircraft and such like but not much about real bits of kit like 8" guns and such.

56 Olpherts battery eh?, I was in 39 Regt in Dempsey Barracks when 56, 76 and 34 Bty were there, back in 1983. I was with 34 Seringapatam bty.

ps I think they are now known as 56 (Olpherts) Headquarters battery
