I wasn't sure where to post this topic so apologies if this is in the wrong place.

Was anyone at the Kleine Brogel Spotters Day this year? Did you happen to take a photo of a UK ground crew member wearing a distinctive helmet with the Union Jack painted on it?

The helmet:

I think its for Royal Navy ground crew, I have not seen RAF ground crew with them, However the Navy crews on the Carriers wear them.

Well it's not standard issue equipment in the RAF, I have been speaking to others members of the office and they have never seen RAF ground crew issued with these 'Hard hats'.hel;

The person may of had a tour with the Navy, also, items like this under current regs, are not be painted or 'de-faced in anyway.

You say that he was from Brize Norton, at the Spotters Day, was he working on any RAF aircraft?

Yes he was with the Jags but was primarily there to keep his F-16 handling rating up-to-date (I think).

This has just hit me, this lad said that he was from Brize (Brize Norton), well they do not have Jagaurs there :confused: , only C130, C17, Tristar and other transporters, also the statement about keeping his F-16 handling rate up-to-date, I think this person was pulling your leg! Sorry mate but I lot he was saying just does not sound right.
