A couple are to pay tribute to a US soldier who scratched his name on the window sill of their home ahead of the 1944 D-Day invasion.
Private Austin Chestnut, 20, left his name, address and date of birth on the house in Torcross in Devon.
The area was used by US forces for D-Day rehearsals.
The couple plan to mark the 60th anniversary on Sunday with about a dozen ex-servicemen who took part in Exercise Tiger.
Peter and Madeline James, who bought their Torcross house in 1987, spotted the memento and decided to track down the soldier's family in the United States.
