Hi, All,
If I didn't agree with you, I'd sue you all for libel and slander. L.O.L.
Try this easy one :
1) No Judas, but still receives silver.
2) A young fastener that doesn't require needle and thread.
3) Needs to slowly climb the ladder of success.
4) Always starts first, but always finishes last.
Who, what, why, when, where?
Derrick.

Not telling you, so there!
I'm soft really, so a head for heights helps.
Crafty, devious, foxy, fiendish, etc.

Hi People,
Himself has been very quiet, Highland Sniper's search engines have run out of steam, so try a visit to a Holy stretch of water.

Hi, People,
I never realised that you needed a head for heights to go in a submarine, Zofo.
River Jordan on right track, but wrong religion and Continent, and don't forget : 'pay a visit'.
I've got you all thinking on this one.

Derrick, you are one devious so-and-so. However, might that young fastener be a zipper or snap?

You really need to look at all the clues together. Solving one will help you solve another, but don't get fixated, especially on zips.

Hi, Everybody.
Last clues, :
you need to be prior to 1976, and the Royal Tournament before this date featured a mini version.

H.M.S. Ganges was a shore training ship for boy entrants to the R.N.
They had a full size (160 ft. high) main mast complete with yard-arms, rigging etc.
At the passing out parade, (and also in the Royal Tournament, but on a smaller scale), the cadets would form up, and in slow time, mount the rigging in time to music, and in perfect unison.
Obviously, the one who had furthest to go would start first. The whole procedure was carried out in slow time, and the cadets would travel along the yard-arms to their positions.
THe cadet who travelled to the top of the mast was known as 'The Button Boy', he would stand 160 ft. in the air, on top of a mast, on a small platform about 18" in diameter, with a metal rod 1/2" thick, grasped between his knees. When everyone was in position, he would salute.
For this, the Button boy, all volunteers, were given a silver commerative coin.

Well.............if there was a chair of cunning on this forum, you would surely get it.
Being of the 1950s vintage myself, I clearly remember both the Royal tournament performances and televised film of the full-scale mast.
Your plans are so cunning, you should call yourself "Balderick". ;)
Well done for out-foxing us so well.

Donning my hero (Victor Meldrew's) hat.
Beating Himself (VERY QUIET lately) and Highland Sniper twice in one day is cause for :
I think I'm being too obtuse. Think again Stiv or you will bore them all. Let me know People, don't want to spoil this Forum, it's great!!!
