How are things in the Motherland these days?

Getting on alright without us, are you? :mrgreen:

By the way...you don't have to be American to enjoy good fireworks!

Here's some fireworks for you!

Turn on your sound because these sound great...like artillery! :mrgreen:

LOL :mrgreen:

Were fine my rebel friend, just lacking some crates of tea?, seems some mohawk indians decided to dispose of it from HMS Dartmouth. :mrgreen:

Interesting fact: The English tea was infact still cheaper with the taxation than the tea smuggled in to the USA.

India I ain't too sure about. If they and Pakistan get it on, might not be much left. Australia's always welcome. I've met a few of those outback lads and lassies and they're good people. :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

Heh, Heh, Heh!!

I've just finished (for the 5th time) James (as was, now Jan) Morris's "Pax Britannica" about the height of the British Empire in 1897 (Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee - a brillian read and full of great writing! I reccommend it - there are brilliant sections on India, Australia, Ceylon and indeed Ireland!

I had an ancestor named Christian Baumgardner involved in throwing the tea into the harbor. He was 17 at the time and his father, an immigrant from Basel, Switzerland wrote him a letter chastising him for his behavior. Ah well, this younger generation - don't know whats to become of them.

Called an old friend of mine, a true blue Scotsman, lived here for 35 years, and true to his tradition he had the Union Jack flying in his front yard in Albuquerque, NM. I asked him if he thought the colonies had done pretty well since we kicked Cornwallis out, and he responded, "Eh, we're better off wi'oucha anyway."

Good Morning, Tosh. Hey, no apologies needed. I really hope that Pakistan and India get their differences settled. We have way too many troubles in the world today. o- o-

Well, I survived the LONG WEEKEND. I did my share of celebrating in good American tradition eating plenty of BBQ'd hamburgers, hot dogs, ribs, and steaks, and washing it all down with some beer burg; dr; pig;

Just to let you folks across The Pond know; there's at least 2 of your lads being respectfully taken care of in the Old Cemetary at St. Helena's Episcopal Church in Beaufort, SC.
