For those who'd like a military history lesson on British Regimental nicknames from way back when, the following link is a good read...

He, He, I like that one! Served in same location with 2 RGJ - bloody nightmare, always fighting each other, us, and the locals!

I was in Paderborn germany when the QLR's were posted there from the UK, they were pretty much the same, always scrapping with each other and us and the locals. Suppose thats what squaddies do eh?
After 2 RGJ were posted to Colchester (rumour control had it that the KOSB & Black Watch were waiting for them!) they were sent to the Falklands to cool off.
They were replaced by the Poachers, - a good mob who only to my recollection tried to attack me once! (With RGJ it was every damned day!) We could actually have a beer with them without any hassles! It made a nice change. Our reggie hotheads would be lurking in all sorts of places looking for RGJ as well so it wasn't all their own fault, or way!
Ah yes, Royal Signals - Chinagraph Queens!
Ah ha, you knew us too well!!! What would I have done without my chinagraph! Or my OHP for that matter!
Royal corps of Transport (RCT) - Rickshaws, Cabs and Taxis!
And I won't mention The Womens royal Army Corps one out of respect for our good sisters!
We called the commo guys snake chasers or string slingers
My old unit C/2nd/25th Arty was the Wolfhounds. I never knew this until last September when we had a reunion.
Oops, sorry, it was the wolfpack. I just looked at the pictures. I have a good memory, but it's short.

Oh yes, silly ole me. I hope the duvets are covered in the same Hairy blankets we used to have?. LOL
With the smart white line or lines down the middle! I hated the dingy brown ones, they seemed more hairy than normal!
Woodentops - any Guard Regiment!

Don't knock the blankets, Guys, at least not the Navy ones. My dad brought a green one home with him for some reason, and once I marked it out with plastic paint, it made an excellent pitch for my Subbuteo Football game.
  :D :D
Derrick.
