Like my Airborne buddy, Steve, I also came here from Patriot Files to check you boys across the pond out. A good looking site with, what seems to be, some good lads on it.

I am a Vietnam Veteran that served there with the 101st Abn. Div. from JUN66-JUN67 as a rifleman in a rifle company. When I returned after my 1yr. tour, I was assigned to the 82nd Abn. Div. at Ft. Bragg, N. Carolina. In FEB68, due to the Tet Offensive, the 3rd Bde. of the 82nd was sent to VN. Guess what Bde. I was in :( . I was a newlywed with 11mos. left in the Army. In MAY68 I was re-assigned to a newly formed security unit escorting fuel tanker convoys from Cam Ranh Bay to various places in the Central Highlands. I spent the rest of my tour riding in a gun jeep manning an M-60 machine gun. Scary stuff at times, but better than humping the boonies. I left VN the end of DEC68 and was discharged 1JAN69, 8 days early. I was a VERY old 21yr. old.

Anyway, looking forward to "meeting" all of you and making some new friends.

P.S. I'm an Irish-American who's very proud of my Irish roots. I'm only 2nd generation off of the boat. Both of my mother's parents, along with her older brother, immigrated from Co. Donegal in the late '20s. My Dad's mother immigrated from Dublin in the mid-'20s. She married my Grandfather, a French-Canadian from Quebec. So, I don't think I had any relatives in that big Tea Party at Boston Harbor. But.......if I did, I'm sure they were in the forefront helping lead the way :D .

Welcome along - serious stuff in 'Nam - I skulked in Saudi and Kuwait doing silly things with Iraqis - never got to use my weapon (apart from when sadistic Sgt. Majors decided it was time to do PT with it!) - luckily for me. Saw lots of the US in action and around us - great camp beds by the way!
Look forward to your posts!
