View Full Version : Hello People
Hi, hope you all dont mind me popping in from time to time. I am the father of Bombardier and I like to keep an eye on his activities :D . I am an ex Paratrooper 1949 - 1956, 3 Para. Andy has just finished setting my computer up for the internet which has caused him some problems, so I apologise if he has been absent from the site for a while.Hope to get stuck in to some discussion with you all, but I must tell you that I am not very good with new technology so I may be a little slower that you internet gurus.
The site looks great and Andy tells me that all his members are well behaved, lets see shall we
The images I have looked at so far are really cool. see you all soon.
Hello Pegasus, welcome.
Stop on by the bunker for a beverage when you get time.
I'm just the same as you as far as technology is concerned. But you have expert help. At he thinks he's an expert.
Greetings Mr. P!

WELCOME, Sir. You've raised a bright young man to have put all this together. Don't let all this tech stuff intimidate you. If I can do it, most anyone can. Besides, you have a good tutor available to you.
Good to have another paratrooper amongst our ranks. Looking forward to some of your stories.

Sir,
Welcome here, and you should be very proud, for you have raised a fine son in Andy. And he's smart too. Just look what he's done with this site.
Looking foward to your posts.

Hello Pegasus and all other members,
I was reading the site and came across the remark about Arnhem. I was still a little wet behind the ears, only having served 15 years, when I was posted to the RAMC HQ Millbank Military Hospital in London. It was there that I met an old sergeant by the name of Joe Sullivan. A quiet, shy, retiring man.
One day the hospital was being visited by one of the Members of Parliament and a small guard of honour was assembled. As he walked along the line of soldiers, the Colonel stopped at Joe and said, “this is sergeant Sullivan, the last surviving medic to drop at Arnhem.”
Later on in the sergeants mess I reluctantly got some of the story from Joe. “I was captured” he said “and spent the rest of the war in a POW camp.”
I found out from someone else that the shy modest man was wounded three times, though none of them serious. When told to withdraw to another position, he refused, and in true medic fashion, stayed to help his badly injured comrades. The old adage of ‘Never judge a book by is cover.’ Couldn’t have been more apt.
I would like to sal; a great and gallant man.
Hey gramps sal;
Hows it going ;)
Glad you're here, Pegasus. No self respecting site can have too many paras.
