This a verse to HRH the Prince of wales from the crew of HMS Bronnington a Ton class Mine Hunter, it was given to him when he finished his command of the ship. HRH also replies in verse.
From the crew;
The Royal Yachtsmen old and new
Humbly send these words to you
May fair winds and good fortune be
Forever in your company.
But what about, oh Captain new,
A ton class painted Royal Blue.
Reply from HRH;
My gratitude is more than due
To all those yachties old and new,
For such a message of good cheer
Which i shall always hold most dear
Perhaps I should just mention here
That if we meet at sea this year
Be sure to keep your fenders out
Lest your paint gets spread about
From the crew;
The Royal Yachtsmen old and new
Humbly send these words to you
May fair winds and good fortune be
Forever in your company.
But what about, oh Captain new,
A ton class painted Royal Blue.
